In late ’78 in Los Angeles, a self-taught artist named Ed Colver got hold of a "garbage camera." He had tried his hand at several different forms of applied art, from graphic design to printmaking, ceramics, woodworking, sculpting, and everything in between, and none of it stuck except photography. And through photography’s inherent DIY nature, Colver had found a new way of expression through experimentation and a series of happy accidents.
