Hamburger joints shaped like Japanese pagodas, chateau-like car washes with phallic columns boasting blessed, everlasting rain (and hard), the young men wearing pants tight enough to see the circumsion marks, and of course the women whose bodies are hidden like the cars in the car washes, like the promised meat inside the fancy sesame roll, like the souls inside those young men’s tight pants.
