THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD KISS

(The following interview took place in outstate New Yprk, where Kiss were recording their latest album, Rock And Roll Over. For our less acute readers, The General is contributing editor Robert Duncan, Billy The Foot Soldier is another CREEMeditor, Billy Altman; the Pirate Dog is Paul Stanley, and the BatEizard is Gene Simmons—Ed.)
The bunker on the hill burns a low, hard silhouette into the full moon behind it. A silver German car—the one they call BMW—sits still, perfectly, on the blacktop of the parking area. In fact, nothing moves. Nothing happens —except light and dark. It’s a silent, frosty little hill zone in that part of upper New York State just far enough from Times Square to never know that junkies and queens live—and, eventually, die.
