WaH-Wah’s For Your Hands!

There was a time when all that lay between a guitar ace’s Jaguar and Magnatone amp was a thin chord.

There was a time when all that lay between a guitar ace’s Jaguar and Magnatone amp was a thin chord. (Duane Eddy, we salute you!) Now enter—the Age of Gadgetry, and an arsenal of studio effects that every Jr. Clapton can use on the gig. The forementioned rig now rests peacefully with the Little Deuce Coupe and a stack of Kingsmen albums. There were, and still are, many problems which have arisen with the use of special effects. A tangle of patch chords that would baffle Houdini, not to mention the added noise and static that these yards of cable introduced, posed a serious problem to aspiring celebrities. There is also the added dexterity needed to coordinate two hands and, in some instances, both feet.

An answer has come! (Jim be praised!!) Electra has a new guitar to give your weary clogs a rest. The MPC (Modular Powered Circuits) Guitar, features an array of effects and tonal ranges all at your fingertips. The special effects modules are easily snapped in and out of an access panel in the back of the axe. Phase, distor^on, treble, and bass boosts, and other popular effects are offered with this guitar. All are designed to leave your tootsies free to do some fancy steppin’. (Hmmm-t maybe the Four Tops will make a comeback.) Another feature which is incorporated in the M.P.C. model is “Tone Spectrum Circuitry.” A rotary switch activates the pickups in phase, out of phase, in series and in parallel, for more tonal variance.
