Prime Time
The evening before the night my tube got boosted, I discovered the scrambled movie. It wasn’t a moment too soon. I really crave, have really developed a need for the seductive low blue hum of ignorant television. I use it to modulate my days around a continual neutral note, not blissful, but troublesomeless.

The evening before the night my tube got boosted, I discovered the scrambled movie. It wasn’t a moment too soon. I really crave, have really developed a need for the seductive low blue hum of ignorant television. I use it to modulate my days around a continual neutral note, not blissful, buttroublesomeless. Still, I’d decided not to get into any of the new fall TV series because I’d read somewhere that by January 80% of them would begone. Forever. And the thought of getting emotionally involved with a minor character on Struck By Lightening or something like it, only to have the possessor of my emotional deposit vanish into nothingness was frightening—it was too tragic (and pathetic) a relationship to enter into with my eyes open. I have enough trouble loving my dog, so why take chances? Still, there’s that craving. I cultivated otherfall evening pursuits but TV was constantly on my mind.
