If you are the only musician in the family, odds are you are facing an otherwise wonderful group of relatives who are completely unaware of what you do in the privacy of your own rock ’n’ roll band. When they ask, “What are you doing now, nephew?” and you say with puffed-up chest, “I play music!” you can almost bet that the next question will be, “Yes, but what do you do for a living??!?’ If you can keep your composure after and be polite after that question, you should be in politics or public relations.
