JOAN JETT
When it comes to the world of pop entertainment, it appears that Joan Jett is a real queen of all trades! As has been well documented numerous times in the past, Joan was an original member of the Runaways, Kim Fowley’s group of L.A. teenage rock ’n’ roll vixens. When the Runaways had run their course, no one predicted a big future for any of the band’s former members. But someone who loved rock ’n’ roll as much as Joan does couldn’t be kept out of the spotlight for long!
Joan hooked up with her current manager, Kenny Laguna—and, ironically, it was a song titled “I Love Rock ’N’ Roll” (a hit for Gary Glitter in England) that broke Joan bigger than she’d ever been with the Runaways. Joan had an opening slot on the Police’s final mammoth tour—and she sold out clubs and halls on her own throughout this country and Europe.
