What is it about the unkempt that causes the sizzle? I mean, here we are with Elias Rønnenfelt—solo artist, member of Iceage and Marching Church—and he’s dressed to the nines in a suit that would shame a high roller on fight night, yet his hair looks like either he just stepped indoors from El Niño or he’s refusing to wash it until capitalism is abolished. Maybe his just-railed-the-shit-out-of-someone aloofness is simply a version of messy bathed in nihilism and contempt for social norms. But it’s probably just because he’s a low-key sex god and he and the fucking universe all know it. Let’s get to the point, though: No matter what that hair looks like, Elias is gonna look positively snackable slithering across the stage and performing songs from his debut solo LP, Heavy Glory. Because if there’s one thing he knows, it’s how to keep a crowd in the palm of his hand. And if there’s one thing we know, it’s that no matter how much we pick apart his outfit, it’s always out of total jealousy for him looking cooler than fuck.
