The Weather Station’s Tamara Lindeman shows us her true colors

January 1, 2025
Jaan Uhelszki

You might be tempted to call the Weather Station’s Tamara Lindeman a shape-shifter—but somehow that doesn’t seem to cover it. It's too ordinary, too clichéd, maybe even too metaphysical for the inordinately talented slight blonde from rural Ontario who bears an uncanny resemblance to Joni Mitchell in bearing, pitch, looks, and especially her smart, wordy lyrics that are as much a call to action as they are poetry.

And she doesn’t even try to deny it.

“Joni’s just been circling my life my whole life, and I don’t know why. It’s weird; we’re Canadian, we’re Scorpios. I mean, her father is also a pilot.”
