COFFIN DROP MIC DROP

Darby Allin leaves it all out there

AEW World Champion Darby Allin grew up loving Jeff Hardy from the Hardy Boyz, a duo of brothers who made their name in the WWE by taking insane risks with no regard for personal safety—like jumping off 10-foot ladders on top of other ladders. But hey, that’s how Darby likes it. “I went to a Haywire show a couple months ago for the first time, and I was climbing on the ceiling and the security guards ripped me off and tried to throw me out,” he says with a chuckle. “The band stopped playing and they came outside and said, ‘He’s with us.’ A lot of people like to run and hide, but I kind of like to step closer to the fire."

Mind you, this was during his leisure time. Darby Allin is definitely cut from a different cloth. I mean, the man’s signature finishing move is called the Coffin Drop.. .as in, he’s the coffin, and he’s dropping on you to put you in your own coffin. He did this four times to his opponent Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) on the night he won that world championship. Maniac. Better than you, my ass.
