DEAR CREEM Before I go any further, I should explain that my interests run more to Shetland sweaters, brandy, country life and verse than to all of this tawdry popular hoopla. However, a friend of mine introduced me to “Sunset,” “A Song for Europe,” “Psalm” and “Mother of Pearl” on Stranded by Roxy Music, and I was quite impressed.

DEAR CREEM

Before I go any further, I should explain that my interests run more to Shetland sweaters, brandy, country life and verse than to all of this tawdry popular hoopla. However, a friend of mine introduced me to “Sunset,” “A Song for Europe,” “Psalm” and “Mother of Pearl” on Stranded by Roxy Music, and I was quite impressed. As he informed me he had discovered these marvellous works via your periodical, I took the opportunity to purchase a copy at my local spa.

Well, I was shocked, -to say the least. However, as I said throughout the Nixon administration, one must give the Devil his due... I must say I find it to be a landmark of American journalism. Lines of the quality of “a mouth perfected in constant moue as though blessed with the power to suck a nectarine dry by remote control” are simply not available in any other American periodical. Your photography is also stunning, almost to the point of eclipsing your excellent prose. May I compliment you on a job well done?
